Talk Title: New Optical Fiber Materials Research
 Presenter(s): Marchant, Beth - Notre Dame University, Marchant.2@nd.edu, Staff/PI
 Date: 1-15-2003
 Event: AAPT
Talk Annotation: At the Notre Dame QuarkNet Center, new scintillators and waveshifter materials are being characterized for fluorescence properties, efficiency, and decay time. Goals are to significantly reduce the response time, while maintaining high detection efficiency for ionizing radiation for applications in particle physics experiments. Scintillators and waveshifters have been prepared by collaborators at Ludlum Measurements and Philadelphia College of Science, radiation exposure of samples has been arranged through Fermilab, and the samples have been characterized in test facilities at Notre Dame in our own laboratory and in Radiation Chemistry.
