Talk Title: Professional Growth Through the Notre Dame QuarkNet Center
 Presenter(s): Marchant, Beth - Notre Dame University, Marchant.2@nd.edu, Staff/PI
 Date: 1-15-2003
 Event: AAPT
Talk Annotation: The Univ. of Notre Dame's QuarkNet Center has grown dramatically since its inception more than four years ago. The center now supports the Notre Dame QuarkNet program, a Research Experience for Teachers (RET) program, a Research Experience for High School Students program, the Siemens' Student Fellows program, the Michigan Physics Teachers association, and the national QuarkNet Modeling Workshop. All of these programs have involved a total of 45 high school physics teachers and 50 high school students over the past four years. I will review and examine the causes for this successful effort to provide support to high school physics teachers in both the South Bend, Indiana, area and from around the nation.
