Talk Annotation: From a community of researchers come many opportunities. High school physics teachers, physics professors, post-doctoral candidates, and a physics undergraduate student meet weekly at the University of Notre Dame's QuarkNet Center. Through these meetings, high school teachers have the opportunity to share in creating opportunities for our students, ourselves, and the larger South Bend area community. These include a Research Experiences for High School Students eight-week summer program, a Research Experience for Teachers 8-week summer program, a QuarkNet one-week institute, interactive displays at local science exhibits, and a chance to present research findings to national and state audiences of our peers. Come to find out how you can create and/or tap into a research community in your area.
