Who I am: I am a Physics teacher working for Chicago Public Schools in the south side of Chicago.
Research: This summer, I analyzed materials for the muon g-2 experiment. My guiding question
was to find out how different materials affected the spin of the electrons and their
detection in the traceback detector. I worked with the GEANT 4 simulator and had
fun playing with Linux and C++ to generate histograms and graphs of energy
loss vs. radiation length for different materials like Lead, Tungsten, Aluminum,
Silicon, Air, Nitrogen and vacuum to name a few.
