Who I am: I am a rising junior in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have a strong interest in sustainable energy and engineering for societal benefit. In my free time I enjoy running, basketball, and guitar.
Research: I worked on developing a mechanism to conductively cool a Niobium SRF cavity using a cryocooler. By creating an alternative to traditional liquid helium refrigerators, we hope to expedite industrial adoption of SRF-based accelerators. My work largely consisted of 3D modeling, thermal resistance testing, and experimentation on a 1.3 GHz Niobium SRF cavity.
