Who I am: I am a 4th year theoretical physics student in Scotland but grew up in Germany. I have done summer projects every year so far, changing my degree intentions from astrophysics over experimental to theoretical physics as time went on. The border between the two ladder is exactly what I am aiming for. In my spare time I enjoy cycling, cooking and sometimes kayaking, which makes me sound sportier than I am.
Research: I spent the summer simulating a new experiment in the proposal stage. It is being designed to probe a quantum phenomenon which has so far only been observed in low temperature physics. I helped to make some adjustments to the setup by including more effects into the simulation and considering every step of the way through the detector.
