Who I am: My name is Josh and I'm a junior Mechanical Engineering student at Northern Illinois University. I'm currently the President of our university's Supermileage Team and I enjoy my free time by biking or reading.
Research: The goal of the Mu2e experiment is to observe a neutrinoless conversion of a muon to an electron. The Cold Mass Position Sensor (CMPS) tracks the movements of each solenoid's magnetic field, which is critical for determining the momentum of the conversion electrons. This summer I worked to calibrate the CMPS and program the PLC that will be used to determine each magnetic field location.
