Who I am: I am a chemistry and physics teacher at Crawfordsville High School in Crawfordsville, Indiana. My interest in particle physics began about 10 years ago. In that time, I have participated in Quarknet summer programs at Purdue, Quarknet Masterclasses, the TRAC program at Fermilab (twice now), and the CERN High School Teachers program. I have created an independent study physics class at my high school that allows students to explore modern physics.
Research: I used COMSOL Multiphysics and ANSYS Simulation Software to perform simulations for the Mu2 experiment. I was specifically tasked with simulating a temperature gradient inside the detector solenoid (with air) for the testing phase. I also simulated the magnetic field of the calibration magnet.
