Who I am: I am a rising junior at Tufts University majoring in engineering physics, with a concentration in computer science; I plan to pursue a Ph.D. in physics. In my free time, I love to be outdoors and hangout with friends.
Research: This experiment is studying the electron recoil background of dark matter searches using xenon time projection chambers. The detector will investigate the energy deposition of inner-shell electron recoils that produce Auger cascades as compared to valence shell electron recoils, which are calibrated for. This will give a better understanding of the backgrounds for future experiments and allow for better background rejection.
