Who I am: I am a rising second year physics doctorate student at the University of Chicago. My research concentration is astrophysics/cosmology, with particular emphasis on general relativity. I have a bachelor's in biology from Emory University.
Research: Currently working with testing cryogenic systems for the third generation South Pole Telescope (SPT-3G). Cryogenics are important for the operation of the superconducting transition-edge sensor bolometers which detect the polarization of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB). SPT-3G was launched in the fall/winter of 2016 and is currently operating.
