Educator Workshop: Insects at Work in Our World

Description: What roles do insects play in our environment? Insects at Work in Our World is a multidisciplinary inquiry-based program including free field trips to Fermilab for first and second grade students.
Explore three diverse areas - wetlands, prairie and woodlands - in search of insects and their relatives. Learn to identify and sort insects and how insects grow, change and work. Make your own collection for your classroom. Using observation, science inquiry and journaling, explore the fascinating world of insects with your apprentice entomologists. On the free field trips, students will net and hunt for insects from three different habitats.
